Title: Best Practice in Executing Workforce Training for New Advanced Composites Design and Manufacturing

Abstract: Advanced composite advancements require a workforce capable of efficiently producing technologically advanced products. The presentation provides best-practice examples of how to deliver tailored entry level workforce training in advanced methods. Emphasis is on examples of industry standards that have been enhanced by digital tools, simulation, and hands on experiences. Data gathered in completions of training using competency-based learning paired with interactive and VR training will be shared. A need for upskilling as well as entry level hiring is provided in examples adaptable training efforts that pair technology with strong industry training partnerships. The presentation will provide foundational data, case studies, references, and a solid foundation for stakeholders seeking solutions to manufacturing challenges that can be addressed early in the development of new materials and technologies. Efforts to design manufacturing will be shown. Examples of early concentration on who will be able to make the product efficiently, accurately, and with traceability throughout the manufacturing process will be shared.
